Abstract

A negative electrode current collector, a battery cell, a battery, and an electric apparatus are provided. The negative electrode current collector includes a foam metal substrate, where the foam metal substrate has a mass-specific electrochemically active surface area of 2.5 cm<2>/g to 20 cm<2>/g and an electrochemically active volumetric surface area of 22 cm<2>/cm<3> to 180 cm<2>/cm<3>. The negative electrode current collector can mitigate dendrite growth, reduce the risk of internal short circuits in the battery, improve the reliability and cycle life of the battery, and enable the battery to undergo high-rate charging.
