Abstract

A secondary battery (2) includes a case (100), an electrode assembly (200) accommodated in the case (100), a cap plate (300) coupled to the case (100) and including an inner surface (301) facing the electrode assembly (200) and an outer surface (302) opposite to the inner surface (301), a terminal (400) protruding outward from the cap plate (300) and connected to the electrode assembly (200), a gasket (500) between the cap plate (300) and the terminal (400), and an outer groove (600) that is concave from the outer surface (302) toward the inner surface (301) and surrounds the gasket (500).
