Abstract

A plurality of communication devices is configured to have physical-layer collision avoidance functionality. A management device (20) includes processing circuitry (21) and a storage device (22). When a change occurs in powering status of power supply equipment for the communication devices in a communication network system (40), the processing circuitry (21) confirms, through communication in a first aspect with the communication devices, whether the communication devices are available for communication. After confirming that the communication devices being powered are available for communication, the processing circuitry (21) switches a communication setting on each of the communication devices and the management device (20) from a first setting for communication in the first aspect to a second setting for performing communication in a second aspect in which a time limit is longer than in communication in the first aspect.
