Abstract

Disclosed is an image reading apparatus (IR) with a reading unit (6) including a transparent member (6b) and a reader (6i), and a conveyance unit (7) including a housing (70) provided with an attaching portion (109A), a first cover (106) attached to a lower portion of the housing (70), a second cover (107) including a holding portion (116) and attached to the lower portion of the housing (70), and a pressing member (104) configured to press a sheet against the transparent member (6b), the pressing member (104) being detachably held by the holding portion (116). The first cover (106) is attachable to/ detachable from the housing (70) in a state in which the second cover (107) remains attached to the housing (70).
