A terminal includes: a control unit configured to determine a waveform to be applied to a downlink signal or a downlink channel during an initial access; and a reception unit configured to receive the downlink signal or the downlink channel by applying the waveform to the downlink signal or the downlink channel. The control unit selects the waveform from a plurality of waveforms.
