Abstract

A material separation device (10) includes: a first motor (500) configured to rotate a material separation disk (100) including a chamber that is a sample storage space, a channel providing a passage for flow of a sample, and a valve for selectively opening and closing the channel around a rotation center on a rotation axis; a valve actuator (400) configured to supply energy for operating the valve; a third motor (700) configured to rotate the valve actuator (400) around a rotation center that is coaxial with the rotation center of the material separation disk (100) on a common rotation axis; and a controller (800) configured to control the first motor (500), the third motor (700), and the valve actuator (400) to supply energy to a valve material included in the valve while the material separation disk (100) and the valve actuator (400) rotate at different rotational speeds.
