Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of a curable polymeric binder composition for the manufacture of 3D articles by an additive manufacturing process comprising applying the curable polymeric binder composition with a movable print head of multi-axis additive manufacturing device, the movable print head having a discharge nozzle for the layer-by-layer application of the curable polymeric binder composition, wherein the curable polymeric binder composition exiting from the discharge nozzle has a viscosity between 3000 and 50000 Pa·s, preferably 4000 and 30000 Pa·s, more preferably 5000 and 20000 Pa·s, wherein the viscosity is measured 5 seconds after the composition exits the discharge nozzle on a plate-plate rheometer at and a constant temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity.The use according to the invention enables 3D printing of thermoset materials with unprecedented flexibility and structural complexity.
