Abstract

An exemplary aspect is generally directed toward a state-changing status/power switch. Even more specifically, one exemplary aspect is generally directed toward an illuminated state-changing status switch that provides context regarding an operational state of an associated piece of equipment, such as a medical device. The context can be provided via one or more of an illumination state of the switch, text on the switch and/or icons on the switch. Alternatively or in addition, the switch can include color-changing capabilities with, for example, white or green being an operational state, orange or yellow reflecting a state between power-on and power-off, and white being a powered-down or standby state.
