Abstract

A negative electrode current collector and a preparation method thereof, a battery cell, a battery, and an electric apparatus are provided. The preparation method for a negative electrode current collector includes the following steps: providing a metal substrate, where the metal substrate is a two-dimensional metal structure or a three-dimensional porous metal structure; and irradiating at least part of the surface of the metal substrate with a laser, causing metal grains in a laser ablation heat-affected zone of the metal substrate to melt and recrystallize to form smaller-sized metal grains, thereby obtaining the negative electrode current collector. The reliability and cycling performance of the battery can be improved.
