Abstract

A radiation therapy machine 100 comprises a gantry 110 rotatable about an axis 132; a rotor 205b coupled to the gantry; and a brake 410. The brake includes braking arms 545 and an electric actuator 515, the electric actuator configured to cause the braking arms to engage the rotor based on a voltage applied to the electric actuator.
