Abstract

A centrifugal separator (100) is disclosed, comprising a barrier device (150) arranged between a separation space and a drainage region. The barrier device comprises a peripheral edge (156) defining a circumferential gap between the barrier device and an inner wall portion of the housing, wherein the gap is configured to permit a subflow of the gas flow to pass between the separation space and the drainage region. The barrier device further comprises an outlet channel (164) bridging the gap to connect the barrier device to the gas outlet, and a flow detachment edge (166) arranged at a lower, downstream portion of an exterior surface of the outlet channel, with reference to the subflow, the flow detachment edge being configured to allow at least a portion of the subflow to detach from the exterior surface.
