Abstract

A downhole tool (1) comprising: a tool housing (5), a first end (9) and a second end (11), and a longitudinal extension having a longitudinal axis (A), a moveable tool part (13), where in a first operational position the moveable tool part is in a first position relative to the tool housing, and in a second operational position the moveable tool part is in a second position relative to the tool housing, an actuator configured to move the moveable tool part, a resistive sensor (35), having a variable resistor (43), whereby the movement of the movable tool part changes the resistance of the variable resistor to register the position of the moveable tool part relative to the tool housing.
