Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a pharmaceutical formulation and packaging system for prilocaine injectable solutions containing glucose intended for intrathecal administration. Specifically, the disclosure provides an optimized packaging and preparation method that enhances the stability and safety of prilocaine solutions without the need for costly inert conditions. The preparation method of the present disclosure improves shelf-life and reduces the risk of degradation of prilocaine and glucose, by maintaining a stable pH value, surprisingly also under atmospheric conditions. The omission of inert conditions during production and storage simplifies handling and eliminating the safety risks associated with glass ampoules.
