Abstract

An assembly is provided for an aircraft. This assembly includes an aircraft propulsion system (20) and a propulsion system pylon (108). The aircraft propulsion system (20) includes a turbine engine (32) and an open propulsor rotor (34). The turbine engine (32) is configured to drive rotation of the open propulsor rotor (34). The propulsion system pylon (108) is configured to mount the aircraft propulsion system (20) to an airframe (106) of the aircraft. The propulsion system pylon (108) includes an engine pylon structure (114) and an airframe pylon structure (112). The engine pylon structure (114) is configured to connect the aircraft propulsion system (20) to the airframe pylon structure (112). The engine pylon structure (114) is attached to the turbine engine (32) by a plurality of engine-pylon mounts (140, 152). The airframe pylon structure (112) is configured to connect the engine pylon structure (114) to the airframe (106) of the aircraft. The airframe pylon structure (112) is removably attached to the engine pylon structure (114).
