Abstract

Wind turbine assembly system and method configured to be used in handling of components during assembly, disassembly and/or servicing of wind turbines, the wind turbine comprising a tower (2). The assembly system comprising a lifting structure comprising: - a mast (1), and - a boom (4) configured to be joined to the mast (1). The assembly system being characterised in that it comprises a hoisting system comprising: o first guiding means (9.1) configured to be located in the mast (1) for hoisting of the mast (1), and o at least a hoisting cable (7) configured to be guided by the first guiding means (9.1) for hoisting the mast (1) from at least a horizontal position to a vertical position.
