Abstract

Coated components (10) and their methods of formation are provided. The coated component (10) may include: a substrate (12) having a surface (14); a bondcoat (16) on the surface (14) of the substrate (12); and an environmental barrier coating (18) on the bondcoat (16). At least one of the substrate (12), the bondcoat (16) or an environmental barrier coating (18) includes at least one dopant source. The at least one dopant source comprises at least one of germanium, phosphorus, vanadium, arsenic, antimony, or a mixture thereof.
