Abstract

Disclosed are a non-fluorinated silane compound, a method for preparing the same, and a non-fluorinated silane-based organic-inorganic hybrid coating composition comprising the same. The compound represented by Formula 2 is prepared by mixing 3-[tris(trimethylsiloxy)silyl]propyl methacrylate, 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane, a radical initiator, and THF, followed by a reaction under a nitrogen atmosphere, and then concentrating and drying the organic layer under reduced pressure. Subsequently, the compound represented by Formula 2 is mixed with 2-(3,4-epoxycyclohexyl)ethyltrimethoxysilane, a catalyst, and water to undergo a reaction, yielding the compound represented by Formula 3. A coating composition comprising the compound represented by Formula 3 exhibits high visibility and excellent anti-fingerprint and anti-scratch properties.
