Abstract

Provided is a Cu-Zn-Si-Pb-P-based alloy continuous cast wire rod including: Cu in an amount of more than 60.0 mass% and less than 65.0 mass%; Si in a range of 0.40 mass% or more and 1.20 mass% or less; Pb in a range of 0.002 mass% or more and 0.250 mass% or less; P in a range of 0.040 mass% or more and 0.190 mass% or less; and Bi as an optional element in an amount of 0.001 mass% or more and 0.100 mass% or less, with a balance being Zn and impurities, in which a total content of Fe, Mn, Co, and Cr, which are impurities, is 0.450 mass% or less, and a total content of Sn and Al is 0.30 mass% or less, and in a cross section orthogonal to a casting direction, an area ratio of an α phase to a β phase is α:β = 40 to 70:60 to 30, an area rate of a γ phase is 0.1% or less, and an area rate of a fine α phase with a grain size of 10 µm or less is 30% or more and 60% or less.
