Abstract
Provided is a hot-rolled and annealed sheet for an electrical steel sheet having excellent cold rolling manufacturability (fracture resistance and edge crack resistance) in subsequent processes. The hot-rolled and annealed sheet for an electrical steel sheet has a chemical composition containing, in mass%, C: 0.010 % or less, Si: 1.0 % or more and 5.0 % or less, Mn: 0.05 % or more and 5.0 % or less, P: 0.1 % or less, S: 0.01 % or less, Al: 3.0 % or less, and N: 0.0080 % or less, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and at least at one sheet width edge, a ratio d<sub>C</sub>/d<sub>E</sub> of an average grain size d<sub>C</sub> at a sheet width central portion to an average grain size d<sub>E</sub> at a position 10 mm from a sheet width edge is 1.2 or more.
