Abstract

A combustor system for an aerial vehicle includes a diffuser case (212) with a first and second end (214) and a large and small radius section, an inner diffuser wall contained within the diffuser case (212), the inner diffuser wall (218) with a lumen (222), a central combustor chamber (220), a first air flow path (224) extending between the diffuser case (212) and inner diffuser wall (18), an integrated air scoop (236) attached to the inner diffuser wall (218) at the first lumen (222) that directs air from the first air flow path (224) into the central combustor chamber (220), a fuel manifold (226) and fuel orifice (228) within the integrated air scoop (236), and a splash plate (230) comprising with a first and second face (232, 234). The splash plate (230) extends through the lumen (222) into the central combustor chamber (220). The large radius section is aligned with the inner diffuser wall (218) away from the splash plate (230) and the small radius section is aligned with the splash plate (230).
