Abstract

A combustor system for an aerial vehicle can include an outer case (212; 612; 712) with a first and second end (214, 216; 614, 616), an inner combustor case (218; 618; 714) with a lumen (222; 622), a central combustor chamber (220; 620), an air flow path (224; 624; 716) between the outer case (212; 612; 712) and inner combustor case (218; 618; 714), an integrated air scoop (236; 632; 720) attached to the inner combustor case (218; 618; 714) at the lumen (222; 622) that directs air from the air flow path (224; 624; 716) into the central combustor chamber (220; 620), a wedge (724) within the integrated air scoop (236; 632; 720), a second integrated air scoop (634; 722) attached to the outer case (212; 612; 712), a bifurcated orifice (726) integrated into the second integrated air scoop (634; 722), a fuel manifold (226) and fuel orifice (228; 718) within the first integrated air scoop (236; 632; 720), and a splash plate (230; 630) with a first and second face (234), the splash plate (230; 630) extending through the lumen (222; 622) into the central combustor chamber (220; 620). The first and second integrated scoops (236; 632, 634; 720, 722) can interlock and seal by pushing the wedge (724) into the bifurcated orifice (726).
