Abstract

The present disclosure refers to a liquid leakage detector (10) for detecting liquid in a battery system. The flexible flat cable, FFC, (20), including: at least a first electrical conductor (22) and a second electrical conductor (24) extending parallel to each other; an insulating layer (26) at least partially enclosing the first and/or the second electrical conductor (22, 24). An electrical resistor (30) located at a first end portion (E1) of the FFC (20) electrically connected with the first electrical conductor (22) and the second electrical conductor (24) at the first end portion (E1). A first opening (27) in the insulating layer (26) providing a first exposed portion (23) of the first electrical conductor (22) with respect to the insulating layer (26) and a corresponding second opening (28) in the insulating layer (26) providing a second exposed portion (25) of the second electrical conductor (24) with respect to the insulating layer (26). A detection unit (40) electrically connected to the first electrical conductor (22) and the second electrical conductor (24) at a second end portion (E2) opposite to the first end portion (E1), the detection unit (40) configured to detect liquid based on identifying an electrical current flowing between the first exposed portion (23) and the second exposed portion (25) via the liquid.
