Abstract

In an example method, a set of functions to be performed in an extended reality, XR, session is determined, set including an inpainting function, a masking function, and/or a shadow removal function. A user equipment, UE, sends a capabilities message to an application server. The capabilities message indicates, for each of the functions, whether the UE has a capability to perform the respective function. The server sends to the UE an assignment message indicating, for each function, whether the UE or the application server is assigned to perform the respective function. A set of objects to be removed from a scene is determined, and an XR session is provided in which the determined set of objects are removed from the scene. In providing the session, the functions of the set of functions are performed according to the assignment message.
