Abstract
A secondary battery (10) includes a battery can (11) having a bottom portion (11c) and sidewall portions (11a) and open to an outside through an opening; an electrode assembly (20) having a stack structure of a positive electrode plate (23), a separator (21), and a negative electrode plate (24) and mounted inside the battery can (11); and a cap assembly fixed to the opening of the battery can (11) and connected to the electrode assembly, wherein a lower portion of the electrode assembly (20) includes a bottom fusion folding portion (21a), formed by heat-fusing and folding an edge of the separator (21), is in contact with the bottom portion (11c) of the battery can (11), and supports the electrode assembly (20).
