Abstract

A dual polarization antenna with beam direction control is provided, configured to operate in the millimeter wave band. The antenna comprises a reflector and a control unit comprising a feeder for radiating the reflector, the feeder comprising a planar array of antennas divided in a number of subsets, each comprising at least four antennas. The control unit is configured to selectively activate the subsets to vary the beam direction and to: feed a first and a second antenna of each subset with a first horizontal polarization signal and a third and a fourth antennas of the subset with a second horizontal polarization signal in phase opposition with respect to the first signal; and feed the first and the fourth antennas with a first vertical polarization signal and feed the second and the third antennas with a second vertical polarization signal in phase opposition with respect to the first vertical polarization signal.
