Abstract

The invention relates to a method (100) for operating a converter (2) of an industrial automation system (1) based on an analysis of a power quality in the industrial automation system (1), the converter (2) being provided for converting an alternating current of an external power supply (3) into a direct current for a power supply (4) of the industrial automation system (1), the converter (2) being preferably configured as an inverter (2), more preferably as a bidirectional inverter (2) and/or voltage source inverter (2),comprising:- Analysing (101) the power quality in the industrial automation system (1),- Modifying (102) a mode of operation of the converter (2) depending on a result of the analysis (101), thereby adapting the conversion by the converter (2) to the power quality.Furthermore, the invention relates to an industrial automation system, a computer program, a data processing apparatus, and a power supply unit for this purpose.
