Abstract

The present invention concerns a system for creating a torque map for controlling a motor. The system includes an input module configured to receive or gather design data about the motor including physical design characteristics or nominal characteristics of the motor, an optimization module configured to generate an optimized set of measurement points for a torque measurement program of the motor using a combinatorial optimization method, and an output module configured to treat the optimized set of measurement points for creating the torque map. The system may further include a data acquisition module configured to obtain torque measurement data when running a torque measurement program for the motor. The combinatorial optimization method may comprise a genetic algorithm and use an evaluation method that gives a better score for fewer measurement points and more accurate torque values.
