Abstract

This application relates to the field of communication technologies, and provides a link detection method, a system, and an apparatus. The method includes: for any network link (which may be referred to as a first link) between any two interconnected network devices, when a service packet needs to be transmitted between the two network devices in a time window, determining a status of the first link by transmitting the service packet; or when no service packet needs to be transmitted between the two network devices in a time window, determining a status of the first link by actively generating and transmitting link detection information. In this way, a link fault can be detected in a time window with relatively short duration, and there is no need to preempt a service packet, thereby ensuring normal transmission of the service packet.
