A controller (452) for a baler (410). The controller (452) is configured to receive a torque value (457), representative of the torque passing through a component of the baler (410), and compare the received torque value (457) with a torque setpoint. The controller (452) is then configured to determine a target speed (454) for the baler (410) based on the difference between the received torque value (457) and the torque setpoint.
