Abstract

A method is described for making a piece of jewellery with metal coils in side-to-side contact with each other comprising the steps consisting of: feeding a metal wire (1) onto a free end of a flat tip (10) having a longitudinal axis (L); winding said metal wire (1) around said free end of said flat tip (10) so as to create a spiral portion (2) with a number of coils laterally adjacent to each other; - compacting said adjacent spirals so as to obtain a spiral portion (2) with the spirals in lateral contact with each other; advancing along said longitudinal axis (L) said spiral portion (2) beyond said free end of said flat tip (10). The present invention also describes a machine for making a piece of jewellery with metal coils in lateral contact with each other and a piece of jewellery (4) having flat metal coils in lateral contact with each other obtained by the method according to the present invention.
