Abstract
A coffee preparation apparatus (1) comprising: a receiving section (3) configured to receive coarse pre-ground (PG) green coffee beans (50a); a roasting section (4) comprising a roasting chamber (10) and an air circulator (12) configured to drive heated air, configured to torrefy the PG beans (50a) using the heated air within the roasting chamber (10); a grinding section (5) configured to grind the torrefied PG beans (50c); and a degassing section (6) comprising a vacuum pump (30) configured to remove released gases from the ground torrefied PG beans (50e).
