Abstract

A flow path cleaning method for a preventive dental device is provided. The device includes a mixer having a powder storage portion storing a tooth surface cleaning powder, a handpiece having a nozzle portion, and a control unit. The mixer feeds compressed air to the powder storage portion to generate powder mixed gas and supplies the powder mixed gas to the nozzle portion through an internal air feeding path and an external air feeding path. The method includes an automatic cleaning process for cleaning the internal air feeding path and the external air feeding path. When an execution request of the automatic cleaning process is input to the control unit, compressed air is fed to the powder storage portion after stored powder has been removed, and the compressed air is discharged from the nozzle portion after flowing through the internal air feeding path and the external air feeding path.
