Abstract

The present invention concerns a therapeutic system in the form of an oral thin film for the administration of cariprazine, which comprises a matrix layer. The matric layer is mainly formed from cariprazine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, tautomer or stereoisomer thereof and a film forming agent comprising a water-soluble polymer, which is selected from pullulan and polyvinyl alcohol and where the pullulan and/or polyvinyl alcohol accounts for 57 wt.-% or more of the matrix layer. The respective oral thin films provide for simplified administration which maintains bioequivalence to approved oral dosage forms of cariprazine. The present invention is further concerned with methods for the production of respective therapeutic systems and respective oral thin films for use as a medicament and for the treatment of mental diseases.
