Abstract

Pyrolytic process for the recovery of products from a starting material composed of silicon wafers with residual layers of organic adhesive separated by photovoltaic panels, comprising the following steps: fragmentation of the starting material, pyrolysis of the fragmented material, condensation of the extracted pyrolysis vapours and separation of an aqueous phase rich in acetic acid and an oil phase rich in fuel oil, separation of non-condensable pyrolysis gases, first leaching of pyrolysis solids with hydrochloric acid, resulting in a first leaching liquid containing aluminium and calcium and a first leaching solid containing silver, leaching of the solid of first leaching with nitric acid, obtaining a second leaching liquid rich in silver and a solid of second leaching rich in silicon.
