Abstract

Disclosed is a booklet producing apparatus including an application unit (101B) configured to apply adhesive onto a sheet, a stacking portion (152) on which a plurality of sheets onto which the adhesive has been applied by the application unit (101B) are stacked, a bonding unit (167) configured to nip and bond the plurality of sheets stacked on the stacking portion (152) with the adhesive, and a control unit (131) configured to execute an operation of producing a booklet, the control unit (131) being configured to control the application unit (101B) such that an amount of the adhesive per unit area of a layer (Tn) of the adhesive formed between each pair of adjacent sheets in the booklet varies depending on a position of the layer (Tn) of the adhesive in a thickness direction of the booklet.
