Abstract

An electric vehicle charging cable apparatus comprising an electric vehicle charging handle with a cable inlet. The electric vehicle charging cable apparatus further comprises a cable. The cable comprises an elongate conductive core with one or more conductive wires configured to transmit electrical power. The cable further comprises an elongate insulating jacket. The insulating jacket is disposed around the conductive core along at least the majority of the length of the conductive core. The insulating jacket comprises an electrically insulative material. The cable further comprises an elongate sleeve, wherein the sleeve is disposed around the insulating jacket along at least the majority of the length of the insulating jacket. The sleeve comprises a plurality of openings. The cable further comprises an impermeable cover disposed around the sleeve along a portion of the length of the sleeve, the impermeable cover extending through the cable inlet.
