Abstract

A packaging apparatus (1) includes: a supply mechanism (2) including a placement unit (2a) on which an article to be packaged is placed, and a conveying unit (2b) configured to convey the article to be packaged placed on the placement unit (2a); a packaging mechanism (3a) configured to receive and package the article to be packaged supplied from the supply mechanism (2); and a main body (1a) configured to connect to the supply mechanism (2) and accommodate the packaging mechanism (3a). The main body (1a) includes a moving mechanism (50) configured to move the supply mechanism (2) from an operating position to a non-operating position while supporting the supply mechanism (2). In the operating position, the supply mechanism (2) is disposed at a position where the supply mechanism (2) engages with the packaging mechanism (3a), and the conveying unit (2b) is positioned to face a first direction in which the article to be packaged is directed toward the packaging mechanism (3a). In the non-operating position, the supply mechanism (2) is disposed at a position spaced apart from the packaging mechanism (3a) without engaging with the packaging mechanism (3a), and the conveying unit (2b) is positioned to face a second direction different from the first direction in which the article to be packaged is directed toward the packaging mechanism (3a).
