Abstract
A method of conveying a sheet (16) in a sheet processing apparatus comprising a perforated sheet transport belt (10) and a vacuum source (14) disposed underneath the belt (10) so as to attract the sheet (16) to the belt, wherein a suction pressure is varied dependent upon the position of the sheet (16), characterized by a step of creating a suction pressure wave that propagates along the belt (10) and accompanies the leading edge of the sheet (16).
