Abstract
The invention relates to an automated apparatus for producing energy from food waste, comprising a feeding unit for feeding the food waste into the apparatus. The apparatus further comprises at least one reaction tank containing anaerobic digesting bacteria for producing biogas from the food waste, a collection system for collecting the produced biogas and an energy production unit. The invention is further directed to a method for producing energy from food waste.
