Abstract

The disclosure relates to a heat pump arrangement (300, 301) comprising: a buffer tank (350) for housing a buffer fluid; a valve arrangement (360, 360'); an inlet/outlet (340); and a module (330) having an input side (331) in fluid communication with the buffer tank (350) via the valve arrangement (360, 360') and an output side (332) configured to be connected to a hot fluid side, wherein the input side (331) of the module (330) is configured to be fluidly connected to a cold fluid side (900, 901, 900'), only, via the inlet/outlet (340) for extracting thermal energy from the cold fluid side (900, 901, 900') to the arrangement (300, 301), and wherein the arrangement (300, 301) is configured to operate in: a filling mode for supplying buffer fluid to the buffer tank (350), in which mode a fluid flow direction through the inlet/outlet (340) is only in an input direction (D1), or in a emptying mode for discharging buffer fluid from the buffer tank (350), in which mode the fluid flow direction through the inlet/outlet (340) is only in an output direction (D2), being opposite the input direction (D1).
