Abstract
A system for sensing clearance with a turbine within a gas turbine engine (20) comprising a controller (506) configured to transmit an electromagnetic wave signal and receive a reflected electromagnetic wave signal. A waveguide (502) configured to propagate the electromagnetic wave signal from the controller (506) toward the turbine and propagate the reflected electromagnetic wave signal to the controller (506). A blade outer air seal (BOAS) (66) defining a window (608) therein through which the electromagnetic wave signal passes and through which the reflected electromagnetic wave signal passes.
