Abstract

A particle characterisation apparatus comprising: a sample cell (210), light source, detector (204), and interferometer. The interferometer comprises a moveable mirror (202) in a first optical path, a fixed mirror (201) in a second optical path, and a combiner (203) arranged to i) split an input light field onto the first optical path and the second optical path and ii) produce an output light field by combining light from the first optical path and the second optical path. The apparatus is configured to determine a spectrum of scattered light at each of a plurality of scattering angles by performing Fourier transform spectroscopy, wherein performing Fourier transform spectroscopy comprises adjusting a length of the first optical path using the moving mirror (202).
