Abstract

A mask forming film is disclosed comprising a carrier sheet, optionally an intermediate layer, and an imageable layer including at least one infrared absorbing dye according to Formula I <img class="EMIRef" id="0557c8f6-3b25-40bd-8380-af8d75c70596-ia01" /> wherein R<1> and R<2> independently represent a methyl, ethyl, propyl or butyl group; T<1>, T<2>, T<3>, T<4>, T<'1> and T<'2> independently represent hydrogen, a halogen, an optionally substituted alkyl group, a cyano, methoxy, ethoxy, propoxy or butoxy group; R<3> and R<4> independently represent an optionally substituted alkyl group; m represents 1 or 2, and W represents an anion which renders the chromophoric group neutral.
