Abstract

A data collection method for collecting data from a data transmission apparatus that receives a predetermined input while a predetermined software program is running, includes a first transmission step of transmitting, when the data transmission apparatus is in an on-line state in which the data transmission apparatus is connected to an external data collection section via a network, input data indicating content of the latest input, to the data collection section, and a second transmission step of transmitting, when the data transmission apparatus is switched from an off-line state in which the data transmission apparatus is not connected to the data collection section to the on-line state, summary data including a cumulative number of inputs for each of the input content during a period in which the data transmission apparatus is in the off-line state, to the data collection section.
