Abstract

There is provided an electrical circuit that can serve as a building block for an impedance converter amplifier, particularly advantageous for use in a condenser microphone. The circuit topology comprises: a pair of transistors comprising a first transistor and a second transistor, wherein a first terminal of the first transistor is configured to connect to a first terminal of a third transistor and a first terminal of the second transistor is configured to connect to a first terminal of the fourth transistor, wherein the third and fourth transistors form a differential input pair, wherein a second terminal of the first transistor is connected to a second terminal of the second transistor; a first current source for providing a constant current stream, wherein the first current source is connected to the second terminal of the first transistor and the second terminal of the second transistor; a voltage follower, wherein an output terminal of the voltage follower is connected to the constant current stream, wherein a second terminal of the voltage follower is connected to a second terminal of the third transistor and a second terminal of the fourth transistor; and a voltage source for providing a voltage drop in the constant current stream, wherein the voltage source is connected between the output terminal of the voltage follower and the second terminals of the first and second transistors.
