Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a trigger for a retransmission. In an aspect, a terminal device performs a method comprising: method comprising: performing, at a terminal device, an initial transmission for a protocol data unit, PDU, in a radio link control, RLC, layer to a network device; and triggering a retransmission, at the terminal device, for the PDU in the RLC to the network device when submitting the initial transmission for the PDU from the RLC layer to a medium access control, MAC, layer, based on a discard timer associated with the PDU in a packet data convergence protocol layer, PDCP, being below a threshold when submitting the initial transmission for the PDU from the RLC layer to the MAC layer.
