Abstract

Photoelectric conversion apparatus includes first and second substrates. The first substrate includes first unit circuits each having at least one photoelectric conversion element, the second substrate includes second unit circuits for processing signals output from the first substrate. The first substrate includes first region where first unit circuits of first group are arranged, and second region where first unit circuits of second group are arranged. The second substrate includes third region where second unit circuits of third group are arranged, and fourth region where second unit circuits of fourth group are arranged. The third and fourth regions are arranged to be shifted from the first and second regions, respectively, so that the third and fourth regions are separated from each other, and distance between the third and fourth regions is smaller than array pitch of the first unit circuits in the first substrate.
