Abstract
A chainsaw (100) includes a housing (10); an electric motor (30) supported by the housing (10); a chain (22) driven by the electric motor (30) to perform cutting; a guide plate (21) for supporting and guiding the chain (22); and a control circuit (40) including a controller (41) and an inverter circuit (42) having multiple switching elements (421), where the controller (41) is configured to switch the conduction states of the multiple switching elements (421) in the inverter circuit (42) to control the operation of the electric motor (30). The controller (41) outputs a braking control signal in response to a braking instruction to control the state of the inverter circuit (42) so that the speed of the chain (22) is reduced from the operating chain (22) speed to the braking chain (22) speed, where the maximum value of the operating chain (22) speed is greater than or equal to 16 m/s, and the braking chain (22) speed is less than or equal to 1 m/s.
