Abstract
A printer for printing on print media to be fed in at least one lane of a feed table set up in front of a roller conveyor belt for feeding the print media in a transport direction (x) on the roller conveyor belt to a print surface comprising a vacuum system to suck media to the print surface. The at least one lane is provided with a signalling element at a first position which corresponds to a position of a trailing edge of a print medium fed in the lane at a start moment of a transport of the print medium from the feed table to the print surface by means of the roller conveyor belt.
