Abstract

The invention relates to a valve assembly (1) for pressure control and circuit protection in a vehicular pneumatic circuit (2), comprising: - an inlet (3) configured to receive compressed air (12) from a supply, - an outlet (4) configured to provide compressed air (12) to the vehicular pneumatic circuit (2), - a first switching valve (5) and a second switching valve (6) arranged in parallel between the inlet (3) and the outlet (4), - a first pressure sensor (7) being arranged downstream of the first switching valve (5) and the second switching valve (6) and being configured to provide an outlet pressure signal (p<1>), and - a control unit (8) configured to o receive the outlet pressure signal (p<1>) from the first pressure sensor (7), o determine ▪ a circuit cut-off condition (10) of the vehicular pneumatic circuit (2) based on the outlet pressure signal (p<1>), ▪ a compressed air demand (9) of the vehicular pneumatic circuit (2) based on the outlet pressure signal (p<1>) and a predefined set pressure value (15) of the vehicular pneumatic circuit (2), and/or ▪ a time control condition (18) for providing compressed air (12) to the vehicular pneumatic circuit (2) according to a stored time control setting (19), and o actuating at least one of the first switching valve (5) and the second switching valve (6) depending on the determined circuit cut-off condition (10), compressed air demand (9) and/or time control condition (18).
